Frequently Asked Questions
How do I register my fundraiser?
Click Hold a Fundraiser then select option "1. Register Fundraiser" and answer a few questions to get started.
Where can I find my fundraiser code?
Click on My Account then select My Fundraisers under the Custom tab. The fundraiser code is located in the last column on the right hand side under the fundraiser code heading. You can click on the code and it will take you to a worksheet for your fundraiser.
How much profit will our organization make?
Typically, groups make up to 50% profit based on their total retail sales. This is one of the highest profit margins in the fundraising industry. How much your organization actually makes is entirely up to you. Our pricing is very comparable to many retail stores for similar products. For example, we suggest that you sell our industry leading 10-oz jar candle for $12.00. Your group will earn up to $6.00 of this price for every candle that you sell. If you have 10 sellers that sell just 10 candles each (100 candles total), your organization can earn $600.00. Sell 500 candles and your organization can earn $3,000.00!
Can we have more than one fundraiser per year with La-Tee-Da!?
We offer both a Spring/Summer Program and a Fall/Winter Program. Many groups will schedule one or more fundraising events for each season. We have a variety of products in our fundraising program. Some groups may choose a candle and accessory program for one season and then offer just the candles for a second or third fundraising program during the same year.
How long should the sale last?
We suggest that in order to keep the enthusiasm high during your fundraising program that you limit the actual selling period to 10-15 days with the traditional type program. Certainly no more than three weeks.
How do you handle sales tax? What if my organization is tax exempt?
If your organization is tax exempt, we will work with you to gather the correct paperwork and get this submitted to the Company for approval. Tax laws vary significantly by state, so please check with your Representative or contact us for more details. Tax exemptions are based on state requirements, not federal exemptions. If your organization is not tax exempt, sales tax will be collected and paid on your behalf to your state. Organizations that are tax exempt are only exempt in the state in which the request is approved. Any shipments to a state other than the original approved state will be required to pay sales tax based on their shipping address and their local sales tax requirements.

Why am I being charged sales tax even though my organization is tax exempt and has a tax exemption certificate?
Fundraisers held in Arkansas, California or Texas by a school, school group, PTA/PTO, booster club or other exempt organization will be charged sales tax in accordance with laws and regulations from those states. These states consider La Tee Da! to be the actual seller of the fundraising product with the exempt nonprofit fundraising entity merely acting as a sales agent or representative for the seller, thus the tax exempt status of the organization is not applicable.
